College Fleur doll 1986

In 1986 Otto Simon released a bunch of new dolls in a brandnew light green box design. Some of these dolls were very popular and were made in a big quantity produced also throughout 1987. But not this doll.

College Fleur seems to have been made in a small quantity because she and even just her outfit are rather hard to find. I didn't have one till ...well... now.

But I was very lucky to find even two College Fleur dolls NRFB and of course I want to share them here with you!

So here is a little review!

The box

The box is wide, the same size as the Bride's Happinnes two doll set box and light green. There is no promo photo of Fleur at the front, only the name of the doll "College" is written at the side. The Fleur Logo has changed to the previous year and is more stylised.  The back of the box shows a cute ginger College Fleur doll wearing a variation of the outfit with a yellow sweater.

The doll

The doll is a very beautiful Fleur doll with the Colourstar facemold made of peachy vinyl (see here all Fleur facemolds). Her cheeks are slightly blushed, she has red lips. Her eyes are royal blue and she has thick, long lashes and a subtle eyeshadow. I have seen photos of this doll also with shorter eyelashes as well, so there are some variations.

Her hair is pretty long in a middle part styled in to a side ponytail that is secured with a rubber band and a white ribbon tied into a bow. It is the same ribbon that was also used for Special Offer Fleur 1987 ,  Alpine Fleur 1986 and Surfing Fleur 1986.

She was made with three haircolors, dark brown, ginger and blonde.

She is on a standard Fleur body with bending knees and straight arms (see here an overview of all Fleur bodies).

The outffit

Fleur wears a very cute outfit consisting of a pullover and a skirt.

The skirt is black and white pleated and knee long. The pullover was made in several variations. The most common seems to be the peach variant that my doll is wearing. However there is also a yellow variant and a bright pink variant.

Fleur wears white socks and red running shoes.

The props

Because Fleur is such a nice doll, she comes with presents extra for you! Attached to the inner box but sealed in extra cellophane are a little green clipboard with a Fleur note book, a  blue pencil, and a Fleur rubber. Fleur has also a white bag, so she can carry her books when she goes to collage.

Similar dolls

There are three dolls, that can be confused  easily with College Fleur, if found not wearing her original outfit, because they had the same side ponytail and facemold:

Surfing Fleur 1986: Only Surfing Fleur is wearing the same white ribbon in her hair. She was made with the same Coulourstar facemold as College Fleur and was available with long and short lashes, However her hair is fuller and more curly that the hair of College. She has the same body as College Fleur.

Jazz Ballerina 1986:  She was made with the same colourstar facemold and make up as college and the hair seems to be same as College. However she was wearing a golden thread in her hair instead of a white ribbon. Jazz Ballerina has the Ballerina body and not the Standard body like College. Jazz Ballet 1985 is also a doll with a side ponytial, however she was produced earlier in 1985 and has a different facemold, the Tennisstar facemold with smaller eyes and a more translucent vinyl.

Grand Gala 1986: This doll can't be told apart from College if found nude. They share the same facemold, make up and body. However Grand Gala has the golden thread in her hair instead of the white ribbon.
